Knife crime is one of the worst crimes in the UK. The amount of people being killed or injured by a knife wound is atrocious, too many people are being hurt due to gang wars, people want to get revenge or the attacker just "feels like it".
Knives are more common among teenages aged 14-19 because knives are now easily concealed and available to them. In some countries and states the age of being able to purchase a knife is 16 and it is not illegal to carry around a folding knifein your pocket. In the UK it is illegal to carry a knife in public without a good reason why you are carrying it with you, unless it is a knife with a folding blade which is 3 inches long or less, for example a swiss army knife.
